| A Week in Costa Rica | |
| Our friends Scot and Karyn suggested that we come to Costa Rica with them and tool around, so we took them up on it. The vacation was organised by Costa Rican Trails, where you get a car and a list of hotels you can stay at. You just drive around, seeing whatever you want to see, and just check in to the hotels you want to stay at on individual nights.
We had a great time, and saw a tonne of cool stuff, including a live erupting volcano. Yeek! We liked the place so much we're already planning our return trip. |

|
|
| We started our drive towards Arenal, stopping off at a
Waterfall Garden and otherwise having a pleasant drive
through the countryside. |

The Arenal Volcano and the road to Monteverde
|
|
| Arenal is a very alive and active volcano. It's kinda
spooky. We hiked around there for a while and then got on
the road towards the Monteverde cloud forest. We even saw
some cute little animals. |

The Monteverde Cloud Forest
|
|
| Despite the bad weather, we hiked around the Monteverde
Cloud Forest for 4-5 hours or so, and then hung out in town
having a relaxing lunch while a huge storm blew around us. |

Driving to Tamarindo
|
|
| After a hike around our hotel this morning, we drove to
Tamarindo on the Nicoyan Peninsula. The drive to the coast
was calm, and our hotel was super swanky. |

|
| After spending the morning in a sea kayak paddling around
estuaries in Tamarindo, we headed to Sámara, another beach
town on the coast. |

Surfing and Heading to San Jose
|
|
| All those waves made us want to try our hand at some surfing
before we headed back to San Jose for our flight home. We
were sad the vacation was over. |
