After nearly six years of not visiting, my friends in Italy convinced me that I needed to go back and spend some time in the north of the country. I'm very glad I took their advice! My vacation consisted mostly of eating awesome Italian food and wandering around various towns and cities. There was a bit of an unusual heat wave going on during the trip — most days, it was around 15C or so, which made the walking that much more pleasant. |
I was staying in a place that was basically an old converted clay brick factory.
Alps are always visible here in the north.
I love the homes in this part of the country.

We call this place the creepy hotel. Some super rich Italian dude owns it, and it sits on top of a hill like a haunted house.

The campanile next to the duomo is always cool.
I got a SIM cell card and wandered around the old historical centre for a while.

I haven't seen skies this blue in ages!!

Down by the train station here, there is an outdoor market a couple of days a week I stumbled into.
Lots of trucks and vans selling clothes and fruits/vegetables at great prices.

Okay, coolest trees ever!

My friends convinced me to attend a "little exercise class". A massive gymnastics marathon, more like it. Very fun!

Fortunately, there's tonnes of awesome food here to offset all the exercise.
