  Ditan Music Festival

2010-05-09

After the mess with the festival the previous weekend, I was a bit nervous to go to another, but some friends went to the Ditan Folk Music Festival this weekend, so I joined them. You could bring your own food and drinks, and what resulted was an entirely relaxing afternoon with baguette, salami, and wine. Oh, and music.

I parked my bike down at the south end of the park and wandered until I found the festival. (At the north end, of course!)
Lots of people out and about enjoying the pleasant spring weather.
Even some wedding photos!
This is cool. Some girl and her mom in a mini-electric car.
With the Canadian boyfriend tagging along behind.
"Yawn. I'm bored".
This is seriously the first lawn mower I have ever seen here in China. Normally ,they just use weed whacker things to cut the grass.
There's a little outdoor fair thingie here.
And then I finally got into the festival.
Light crowds, lots of mellow music, and plenty of grass and tree shade.
And this angry singing girl.
Pretty good.
Kids and adults alike.
Foreigners and locals alike.
Om nom nom nom.
"Ahahaha, I slay myself."
These are Mongolian throat singers. Pretty cool music.
More mongolian throat singers.
This girl was having the time of her life blowing bubbles.
As the day got longer, I had to work my way back home.
Past the very delicious Hong Kong restaurant just south of the park.
