| First Dinner in Qingdao | |

2007-10-17
After arriving in Qingdao, we found a surprisingly nice and affordable hotel, and then went and foraged for food. It turns out that all the cool stuff with all the cool restaurants and the like is on the other side of town from where we were staying, so we had to hop a pretty long cab ride to get there. The food in this city is, not unexpectedly, dominated by seafood, and tends to be quite good, if not super cheap. |

We found a nice restaurant with outdoor seating, and started ordering some food.
All of our plates and eating supplies came in shrink wrapped plastic. Awesome.
Walking aroun dafterwards, there are all these shiny lights and things.
That is a gigantic bottle of beer. In addition to being home of Tsingtao beer, Qingdao hosts Huawei, a huge domestic electronics maker.
I have no idea why I took this photo some weird Kentucky Fried Chicken game board.
We then walked around the waterfront area of downtown some more.
There's a cool pier you can go walk out on and hang out.
There's a little pagoda temple thing at the end.
